Kintsugi, part 7

Kintsugi, part 7

So I finally finished restoring teapot lid. My friend, a tea master, gave me a two halves of a lid, one half was damaged too.

I restored missing parts with powdered clay, which was mixed with urushi laquer. The two halves were glued together with traditional kintsugi mix: flour, water, urushi laquer.

I decided to not use a powdered silver, bronze or gold – I still lack necessary skills to cover such large area with completely flat layer.

...and during restoration.

P.S.: the I was restoring last year for my friend is fine!

It's Baikal lake, by the way!
