Homelab status update: Strix Halo, 3D printer & other stuff
Hi everyone! I have some updates on my homelab, so... 👉👈
Local AI machine

I got Beelink GTR9 Pro with 128Gb LPDDR5X for local large language models (LLMs, AI, you know what I am talking about) for ~2000 USD (210 000 RUB), and despite I had noisy fans (rattling noise on EVERY RPM settings, even slowest) I am overall happy with it's performance & value for money – good luck finding 128GB DDR5 for 2000 USD now... 😢
I am using it as a code & web search assistant, and it's fine. With SearXNG enabled, I could get pretty sane results in GPT-OSS:120b and Qwen3-Next:80b models. Also Qwen3 is pretty good at understanding and outputting Russian language, which is a plus for some of my friends who does not know English that well.
Talking about code... well, I may be kinda new to this vibe coding thingy, but I am not getting really good & fast results, but it's a good tool to ask if I am on the right path – for example, with the help of GPT-OSS:120b I realized that the way I write API for my project is kinda sub-optimal, and I should learn about best practices from more experienced engineers.
The setup was really easy – install Fedora Linux, go to kyuz0 toolboxes repo (his benchmarks) & use any toolbox you want. I decided to not mess with ROCm drivers (mostly due to government censorship – AWS & Cloudflare servers are not accessible without some tinkering 😉), so I just use RADV toolbox. I also run 2 models at the same time, and it's fine... so far.
3D Printing stuff

I also got over 100 hours of 3D printing on my Anycubic Kobra 1S Combo. Exclusively PETG.
It was fine, I encountered only bed leveling issues – when I take off PEI bed, I kinda moving my Z-axis, and I usually start bed leveling after every print so I would not scratch the bed itself or damage prints with the nozzle.
Other than that, I had zero issues.
I plan to buy a MASS Premium NAS case, but right now I am waiting for 3.5kg of black PETG to arrive.

Nothing to add, to be honest. I don't shoot very often – I am mostly at home or asleep (that's a remote work for you 😿).
